Our resident odd couple share some time handling pre-storm preparations around Chez Herd (Florence has been very slow to get to us).
To the east of us, Hurricane / Tropical Storm Florence have pounded so many people. The rains have been relentless and the flooding terrible for some. Fortunately, many of our friends to the east have checked in and let us know that they are doing well despite the weather. We want them all to know we are thinking of them.
As of Saturday evening, we had only seen some mild winds and the lightest of sprinkles. We expect rain for the next two days, but no more than we would get out of any normal storm. The slow moving storm gave us time to partake in one of our favorite wet weather games.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
hello thundering herd its dennis the vizsla dog hay wot??? grubs??? wot ar grubs??? ar those like biskits??? kan i hav wun??? hope yoo ar all dooing okay with all that rain!!! ok bye
It’s nice to see those two together. Typhoon has some wisdom behind all the youthful silliness.
Love seeing this odd couple together! So grateful you haven’t been severely affected by Florence!
We have almost 4 inches of rain here in GSO. The heavy rain has reached us now.
Soft woos from Hokie Pack and prayers that all continue to remain safe.
So happy Florence doesn’t seem to have too much effect on the Chez Herd and family and so glad Typhoon and the Chief of security are on the job!!!! Best wishes and prayers to all who will be and are affected by this storm.
The rains and winds just started here in Little Switzerland, NC “And this to shall pass”
Mom ‘n Ebby say: Nice to know Ty & Kiska are stocking up for the storm, going after all the grubs they can find. Hope you and the Herd are all safe from Hurricane Flora, and don’t get washed out.
