We arrived home safe and sounder yesterday evening and promptly started an intense sniffer inspection of Chez Herd – and Movie Memory Monday!
Our arrival home is a triumphant affair – complete with blowing bugles!
Ok, fine, maybe those bugles consist primarily of Landon hanging out the window of the Jeep screaming delight, but everyone sure knows we are coming! Apparently, that includes the rabbits who quickly vacated our yard. They may have left, but they left their scent!
Movie Memory Monday
Cheoah has always had a unique way to cool off when hot, so we share a video from 2012 – Water Woes.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
My daughters husky us to do that all the time. She looked just like that one only two very pale blue eye’s.
Ok I have a question Cheoah was 5 when the throwback was made which means she’s 10 now , although she still looks 5 … when do the dogs get moved to the senior porch? I’m not trying to rush her over in fact I think she does great keeping the boys in line, I was just curious
It is a terrific question.
Cheesewhiz came to us in May 2008 – almost ten years ago! She was found tied up behind a foreclosed house and our intentions were only to foster her until a poor permanent solution was worked out. Guess what?
Anyway, AKC paperwork left in the house indicated that she was 2 1/2 years old, which would make her 12 1/2 today (birthdate of December 22, 2005). However, none of us believed the paperwork actually applied to her, so we guessed that she was around a year old. Still, that would make her 11 today.
No matter what her age, she clearly qualifies for the senior porch chronologically. But we let the dogs pick what they want. Kiska and Qannik (as well as Natasha when she was here), clearly wanted to be away from the rowdiness of the youngsters. Cheoah has, so far, chosen to remain with the younger boys.
So the answer is that they get moved to the senior porch when they want to move.
Smart bunnies! Get outta there!
Love the waterhound Cheoah ????
