Unlike some other members of The Herd, Frankie prefers snuggling in the covers on the human bed or curled up on his blanket in Hu-Dad’s study. He is Hu-Dad’s velcro dog – always just a few feet away throughout the day and night – and the only dog to sleep all night, every night, in the human bed.

With duties as the leader of the junior team, however, Frankie does have specific responsibilities to survey the perimeter. This week, his surveys have been quite quick and efficient – out to the tree fort where he is protected from our blustering wind – and back inside as quickly as possible.

The perimeter is clear. Get me back inside.
