In the Peanuts comic strip, Snoopy’s doghouse was many things to the canine character – and an inspiration to our very own Boom Boom.
Landon hasn’t flown the crate like Snoopy did with the Sopwith Camel, but he does use this perch for surveillance inside the house. Our biggest question for him is whether the wire top to the crate hurts his paws.
This is actually the way Landon signals that he is ready to come inside. Sure, some dogs scratch on the door. Some sit and stare patiently through the glass. And some (er, Typhoon) knock loudly with their paws. Landon’s unique approach is to stand on a crate and stare inside the house until the Hu-Dad notices. In this case, however, Hu-Dad just grabbed a camera and started taking pictures.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Good to see the Tree of Life ! That Boom is a hot mess. How does he ask to be let in now ?
So since this was a Way Back Wednesday from 4 years ago the question I have is does His Royal Highness Typhoon Phoonie still do this???
That is Landon (aka, Boom Boom). Typhoon would never stoop to such antics because he is big on slamming his paws onto the door for attention. Sort of a “Hey, Human Servant, why is this taking so long?”
As for Landon, no, he doesn’t, but that probably has more to do with logistics. We no longer have outdoor crates so nothing to climb up on. Don’t worry, though, he still likes being up high whenever he can.
Sibes are such a unique breed of crazy!!
And that’s why we love ’em.
You are a genius Landon, absolute genius.
Khumbu & co
Awww. Put a couple of boards and a piece of carpet across the top of all those crates. Would make a dandy canine look out.
When our Sabrina would want in she would hop up on the window sill and stand side ways glaring in at us. This is good athleticism since the sill was about 3-4 feet off the ground and only one brick wide (and she weighed 60 pounds).
LOL – he cannot be comfortable!

You’re too adorable Landon ????
