Our Official Autumn Declaration

The rains finally subsided and the shone brightly on Sunday. Our temperatures have cooled considerably, with lows dipping into the 40’s and high’s in the 60’s. The trees surrounding our property are beginning to turn red and yellow. And the calendar says September. Put all of that together, and we have made our official autumn declaration – Let Fall Begin!

Our first autumn walk!

Our first autumn walk!

During the heat of the summer, we rarely leave the area around our house. We saw only two days this summer that reached 80ĀŗF at the house, so you can imagine why we don’t leave.

But Sunday was cool enough for us to pile into the Jeep and take off on an adventure – a good walk and a drive to Asheville. We had a blast seeing friends we haven’t seen all summer and walking trails other than the ones around our house. A perfect start to fall for us!

By the way, in case you think we are out of practice. Typhoon wants everyone to know that he remembers exactly how to walk a trail.

Backwards.

Backwards.

Mom sez: Kiska looks like Ebby — still blowing coat something fierce! We’ve taken enough out of Ebby with the “furminator” to build a whole herd of Huskies! And still lots there.
