Veterinarian Checks for Q and Frankie

Not even the holidays can prevent a few veterinarian checks – a follow-up exam for Qannik and an eye test for Frankie Suave.

A Jeep ride without everyone can only mean one thing – veterinarian checks.

Qannik is proud to report that his weight is down to 59 pounds. And, in a directly related event, his left front leg and paw are showing improvements thanks to laser treatments and pharmaceuticals. If you remember, back before his dietary track issues, we had noticed a limp. With his digestive system running full strength now, we are focused on improving his leg to minimize or eradicate the limp. The biggest challenge is that Hu-Dad insists on lifting Qannik out of the Jeep so he doesn’t land on that leg. Q is not impressed.

Frankie began squinting out of his right eye, so we took him in to check for a scratch or ulcer. The coolest part of the exam – for the humans – was a dye applied to his eye. The black light examination revealed no significant issues with his eyes – and a funny moment where the dye was coming out of his nose. Sorry, Frankie, for the laugh. We will be applying some antibiotic to his eye for the next few days, but expect it to heal completely.

Oh, and the most important part of a vet exam . . .

Happy for Qannik and Frankie. Love the way Frankie is demanding his treats and am sure the staff were very happy to surrender the treats.
