Biggest Beasts Of Our Woods

Out for our routine evening walk around the neighborhood, we did not expect to encounter the biggest beasts of our woods.

Our neighborhood walk. Don't worry, Kiska is off camera snatching ripe blackberries.

Our walk was peaceful and quiet. A grumbling and rumbling sounded far in the distance. The noise grew louder and louder until the massive beast roared into view. We could only stand and watch the monster approach, turn, and begin its work.

Biggest beast of our woods.

Cataloochee Ski Area next door buzzes throughout the summer months with improvement projects. These giant trucks are busy moving dirt from one of those projects and dumping it along the edge of one of the parking lots.

Empty and headed back to the project area.

Less than 2 1/2 months left until the beginning of ski season – and we can’t wait. Bring on the snow!

That was a big creature, huh?
