We are fortunate to live rural enough to avoid the craziness of Independence Day fireworks, but Frankie complains other boom booms must stop. Thunder being enemy number one.
Frankie has come a long ways in dealing with loud noises like thunder. He has not needed his thunder shirt in months. All he asks is that the Hu-Dad acknowledge the loud, scary noises and promise to protect.
With assurances from Hu-Dad that all is safe, Frankie can stretch out near the Hu-Dad and wait for the sky rumbling to subside.

A Job, A House, A Dog, and the Internet
January 22, 2023
Though I didn’t realize the impact at the time, a job, a house, a dog, and the internet combined in one fateful year to change my life forever.
Way Back Wednesday
Each week, we reach back into our vault of over 4,700 previous posts and share a favorite. We hope you enjoy this look back.
Visit Millerton, a fictional small town near Asheville NC, via D.K. Wall's novels. Ordinary people. Extraordinary events.
Hello to the herd. Happy belated 4th of July. No one likes the firecrackers here either and living right in the city, there are a lot of them. Very noisy night. Happy that you all have your Hu-dad to reassure you with the thunder. Have a wonderful week. Can’t wait for your Friday video. Love everyone of you. My day is made brighter when I read your web page. Thanks so much.
We unfortunately aren’t far enough away for the fireworks to go away. In addition to the daily t-booms, they drive Leena to my bed/desk if she can get there, or to my mom’s bed to be protected from the sounds.
I figured it was normal knowing Frankie’s approach to the storms…what I found hilarious is my cat has started running to hide from them as soon as she sees Leena reacting. Used to be she didn’t care, but she’s learned the behavior from her canine friend lol
Those are the saddest eyes, not something we see in Sibe Quinten
I know you don’t know his history before he came to you, but it makes you
