For all of you that do not consider yourself to be morning people, we just wanted to let you know that one of us is not a morning dog.
We should warn you that the Hu-Dad is one of those obnoxious morning people – up long before sunrise, never sets an alarm, doesn’t even drink coffee. Pretty strange, huh?
Most of The Herd goes outside around 6 am to greet the sunrise with a chipper song. The yard must be inspected from any possible intrusions overnight and perimeters patrolled. And five of the six members of The Herd are readily helping with the morning chores . . . while somepup continues to lounge in bed.
Of course, as breakfast time approaches, the pressure mounts for the straggler to join everyone else (because breakfast is not served until all are present). Hu-Dad always knows that the last member is awake – sort of – when he hears the soft, dragging paws of a very sleepy pup finally working her way to the door.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Aughh! I can just feel that horrible someone-is-trying-to-get-me-up feeling from seeing Cheoah in the last photo. I understand you, pup!
Over the years, Juno’s and my circadian rhythms have synced. She’s up when she hears me stirring, whatever time in the morning. Ideal.
Oh sweetie, I’m with you, mornings are better when you can sleep in!
It’s ok baby girl… Not everyone can be a morning dog???❤️
My girls are not morning dogs, either! They have been known to go back to bed even when they are told they are going somewhere fun.. “Let us know when it’s time to go”. LOL!!
