Kiska’s Vet Day

One of the fun things in a multiple canine family is that there is always someone who needs to go to the vet – and yesterday was Kiska’s Vet Day.

Yes, yes, Sibe Quentin was left without the Head of Security for a couple of hours. We can only imagine the chaos that must have reigned during her absence.

Kiska would never reveal her age, but she has lived at Chez Herd for over nine years, so her vet records show her as 10 or 11 years old. As a senior pup, she has an exam every six months just to make sure everything is working well.

Waiting for the test results.

Waiting for the test results.

All of the preliminary tests revealed a healthy, happy girl.

Oh, tests. We should mention that Kiska has a very special note in her vet records so that everyone remembers the best way to get her to cooperate for all of the tests. Long-time readers remember the note, but here is a hint for newer readers.

Really. It says it in her notes.

Really. It says it in her notes.

Yes, Kiska’s records say that she is a very cooperative patient as long as someone is providing a little peanut butter incentive.

P.S. – We did decide to go ahead and clean Kiska’s teeth Wednesday. She will have minty fresh breath for Thanksgiving weekend.

Good news. As soon as I saw “Kiska” and “vet” my mind inserted: “peanut butter”. We have been trained well!

Lovely Kiska. I hope that all went well at the vet. I wish that I got peanut butter for my tests. It would make them much more pleasant.
