Outdoor Activities for a Beautiful Day

We will admit that we are still recovering from the rain day after day, but yesterday qualified as a beautiful day no matter what the comparison. And beautiful days have to be celebrated with outdoor activities.

brilliant colors against the blue sky

The colors of our leaves were brilliant against the blue sky.

And what sort of outdoor activities do we like to celebrate. One of our favorite is a group activity:

grub hunting - outdoor activities

Grub hunting

Lots of rain brings the grubs to the surface and they are quite the delicacy. Hu-Dad is particularly impressed with our landscaping skills.

sentry duty

Sentry duty

Nothing is better than taking control of the picnic table and handling sentry duty. The view is spectacular. Just ask Frankie.

next meal

Asking when the next meal will be served.

Uh, Qanniki, inquiring about the meal schedule is not technically an outdoor activity. And you do it rain or shine. But, come to think of it, we do enjoy snacks!

Mom sez: Sitting here wondering who is happiest with the resumption of outside activities — The Herd, or the Hu-Dad? Or is it about equal?

Mud Freckles

January 10, 2009 |

Lots of snow, lots of rain, muddy roads, four-wheel drive, and an open jeep window.  This is when a dog should not hold their head out of the window, as demonstrated by Natasha and Kodiak as they show off their Mud Freckles.
