Any kid knows that turning down a friend’s dare can be quite dangerous to your reputation. But when you receive a double dog dare, you have no choice but to do it.
This time of year, we have thunderstorms most afternoons. The clouds roll over the mountain tops and unleash a brief, if heavy, rain. Smart dogs would simply wait out the rain on the big covered porch.

Way Back Wednesday
Each week, we reach back into our vault of over 4,700 previous posts and share a favorite. We hope you enjoy this look back.
Thank you for sharing all the many shades of Chez Herd and its lovable inhabitants with us! Visiting your blog is always a delight and entertainment! Just wanted you to know we appreciate it and know how much thought goes into preparing each post. I am always amazed at how you keep coming up with new material, keep taking great pictures and never lose your sense of humour. I know how much work is involved in managing and caring for our five dogs. It’s a full time occupation, and yet you make it all seem so easy. I don’t know how you do it so seamlessly.
I think Kiska just wanted to give hu-dad some wet dog smell without getting wet herself.

Mom sez: So, Qannik goes out and gets soaking wet, has to be toweled off, while Kiska just stands there and snickers! Nice!
