Yesterday was one of those classic late January days – cold, windy, a little sleet, a little snow, but not enough snow to be fun. So Qannik chose the perfect cold weather activity.
This love seat is in the main bedroom and Hu-dad’s curl up with a good book spot. And, of course, nothing completes a good book reading spot quite as much as a canine companion.
It is funny how each member of The Herd has the thing that they get to do alone with the Hu-dad. Qannik has always volunteered to be the book reading companion and, thus, considers this to be his couch.
This was during the day, so Hu-dad still had plenty of work to do in his study (which is Frankie’s spot!), but Q decided to get comfortable anyway.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
He’s hoping Hu-dad will join him soon!
Monty and Harlow
Qannik the cuddly intellectual.
Ice sez: Owwooooooooo, I sooooo love Qannik’s idea of a perfect winter afternoon, curled up with the hu-Dad, and a good book! Let Frankie carry on in the office by himself — I’m sure he can handle it for one afternoon!
It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
Sometimes I can’t help but think the most perfect vacation to relax would be to visit all of you guys up there and curl up with Qannik in that chair, and read a book (NOT on my phone like I usually do but a REAL BOOK). Cup of hot tea and snow outside would round that out nicely. Perhaps some soft music in the background, a blanket to share with him. :).
Great idea.
