Winterfest Smoky Style

While this post is a little focused at other Nordic breed owners, read on because there is a little something for everyone. Our town – Maggie Valley, NC – will be holding a Winterfest Smoky Style on February 27 through March 1, 2015. We need some help – and the six of us (and Hu-dad) will be at the event! We might even do pawtographs!

sounds interesting

Well, this sounds interesting!

The weekend at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds will have lots of winter inspired events (vendors, music, food, ice sculpting, and on and on), but we want to focus on the part of the festival about Working Dogs. Sort of like us, only actually working.

Which brings us to our need – some people who do carting, mushing, etc. with their dogs who will volunteer to come to the event and talk about – and demonstrate – what you do. Doesn’t matter whether you have a big team or bike or ski with a dog or two, our visitors to the Festival Grounds would love to hear about what you do and how to do it. We know we have readers who do this – or know others that do – and would love to have you come.

And if your working dogs travel by dog truck or RV, we even have a place for you to park right in the middle of the Festival – with electricity and water hook ups! Serious! If not, we have plenty of dog friendly hotels in the area as well.

S-RV

Are we going to park the S-RV there?

Yes, The Herd will be parked right there and we will be hanging out all day. Unfortunately, between TPLO surgeries and age, we are not doing any carting this year. Which is why we need other carters to help us out!

So if you are willing to help (or just interested in knowing more to decide if you can help), please reach us at this special email address.

In the meantime, here is a very old video we did of some of our training in 2010.
