Cute Dog Alert

Warning right now – this is a cute dog alert. We are going to post several cute dogs in today’s post and, no, none of them are us.

Since yesterday was a holiday, we decided we would send our humans to Sarge’s Animal Rescue so that we could sleep.  Since they were holding a special holiday adoption day, Sarge’s needed humans who were skilled at walking dogs and picking up dog *$#)$ – and our humans qualified!  Of course, we mobbed the humans as soon as they returned in order to pick up all of the dog smells – and here is our report.  All of the following dogs are looking for forever homes:

Charlie

Charlie – a sweet bundle of energy.

Sugar

Sugar – who figured out real quick that the hu-dad’s lap was a great place to sit (and also made focusing a camera really difficult).

Ginger

Ginger – a total sweetheart who loved chest scratches.

Rosko

Rosko – who greeted hu-dad with puppy teeth! Rosko is a clown and is all puppy!  And you have to love that pink nose.

Bruiser

Bruiser – with his webbed feet and sleek body, he needs somewhere he can swim!

Khaleesi

Khaleesi – who looks like she might be related to us.

leg cross

She even has the leg cross down.

Trapper

And Trapper – who really needs that right home.

A little extra word about Trapper.  He really needs to find a home with someone who is prepared to invest some time.  The world is a big, loud place and he needs a human who can help him understand that he can be safe despite his insecurities.  In fact, he reminds the hu-dad a great deal of Kiska in her first days – weeks – months – at Chez Herd as she learned that humans could be trusted again.  Someone will need to be very patient and also able to establish clear boundaries, without being too strong.  But we know – just know – that with the right investment, Trapper will become that loyal companion to the right person.  We know – because we know who Kiska has become.

Just to let you know that Trapper was adopted by someone that needed him as much as Trapper did.

    *tears*

We know the joys of the Meet and Greet! And I know The Herd Humans, with your love of rescue and sensitivities to their needs, were awesome PR Agents! Clearly, an adorable group was on hand! And we are saying a prayer… I know Sarge’s ensures the right fit for each dog. More difficult for some than others, but so very worthwhile…

    sending love for all,

    Little Reufus and the Mom

Did you adopt Khaleesi? She looks like Typhoons evil(er?) twin 😉 I shared your post to all my social media. Hoping they all find forever homes quickly.

No, we did not adopt Khaleesi. She is an absolute sweetheart, but 6 is our limit. We can’t fit a 7th in the Jeep (without getting rid of a human).

Many thanks to the herd for sharing your humans and their many skills with Sarge’s yesterday. Sarge doggies SO ENJOYED having extra hands to walk, fondle & scoop. And we got some behind-the-scenes stories about all of you!

I have tears in my eyes after reading your post, especially your description of the sensitive Trapper. Thank you to the Herd for allowing the humans to invest their holiday in the Sarge dogs.
