Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?

Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldnât have been much worse.

Mom sez: I could’ve added this below Ice’s comment, but thought I’d give him his own space today. Regarding the “segregation” of the “Seniours and Juniors” in Sibe Quentin, I’d often wondered about that myself — how come there often seemed to be two separate groups there. Now I understand. I could quite see QNTE losing patience at the antics of the “kids” after a while, and wanting to “take a round out of them” when they got too much. And I don’t think the idea of trying to break up a Siber Squabble between all six of them (for I’m sure they’d all get into it) would make for a fun-filled afternoon.
Ice sez: Ooooooowooo, it’d be so nice to lie in a nice sunny spot all afternoon, and look out over a few of the views like the Herd has. You are soooooo lucky. I’ll be 84-years-old (that’s 12 in “people years”) in June, and love nothing better than to just go for walks with my hu-Uncle Kyle, then lie in the sun for the rest of the day. Wish I had views like that to gaze at.
wow! Just beautiful!!!!!

Just a curiosity question: Do the two groups of dogs (Cheoah, Frankie and Typhone – Quannik, Natasha, and Kiska) interact with each other? It seems the photos you show always show one group or the other.
Great question.
The short is answer is yes, they do interact, but we have Sibe Quentin divided into two sections. The seniors (Natasha, Qannik and Kiska) are less tolerant of all of the bouncing and activity of the youngsters. We don’t call Kiska the Fun Police for nothing! So, to give the Seniors plenty of peaceful napping time, they have their own section of the yard. And, the youngsters can romp and play all they want in their section.
But, we all sleep together at night, RV together, walk together, etc.
Definitely a gorgeous view! Who wants to be inside on a day like that?
