Hanging Out

We took off on an RV adventure (more on that in the next few posts) and are just hanging out. Some of us more than others. Let us explain.

secured for travel

Everyone secured for travel.

A little background. The bunk beds in the RV were converted to sleeping crates for camping nights. But that doesn’t work when we are actually moving because with the slide pulled in for driving, the bunk beds are difficult to access. Therefore when we are driving, the foursome ride in seat belts – Qannik, Kiska, Natasha and Typhoon.

Above the driver’s compartment are crates for Frankie over the driver and Cheoah over the passenger. So imagine hu-dad’s surprise when he looked up and saw this:

supervising

Just supervising without that pesky door being closed.

Hu-dad pulled over because he assumed he just had not latched the door properly at the last stop. Because of that stop, he was absolutely positive the door was closed tight. So imagine his surprise a few miles later when he looked up and saw this:

latch

You don’t think a little door latch is a problem for me, do you, hu-dad?

Hu-dad is mumbling something about stronger locks are going to be installed.

Hu-Dad, Hu-Dad, Hu-Dad! Well behaved dogs don’t make for good blogs! And hey, she stayed up there, she just needed a little extra room to stretch out. It’s not like she jumped down and started chaos or something! Sheesh!

Are those just slide latches? They can jiggle loose in transit (speaking from personal experience….). You can make them tighter by jamming something around the slide bar (I’ve used bits of paper towel) as a temp fix.

The Thundering Herd has a furbaby who is a reincarnated “Harry Houdini” !! Furbabys has one too πŸ™‚
Our Gracie uses her teeth to open every door in the house and that includes door locks! One day we will send a few photos! We quit replacing door knobs πŸ™‚ They have the hammered Look! and Your “Houdini wants to work ~ as every furbaby needs a job ! So being the spotter – detective and a locksmith is quite a feat πŸ™‚ Enjoy your Trip ~
