Morning Routines

Our morning routines are important to us to get our day started properly.

security patrol

Before the day can begin, Kiska’s morning routine starts with a security patrol.

leaves

You really need to do something about all of those leaves, hu-dad.

breakfast

Security patrol is complete. Now, how about serving some breakfast, hu-dad?

QNTE

The Queen totally approves of that breakfast request.

So what are your morning routines?

We normally wait until Dad gets home since he works midnights but once he walks into the door we are ready for the day to begin. Outside to check the tree line for those pesky squirrels and the entire yard for the bunnies. When all is checked then back inside to wait for Dad to prepare their breakfast. It is quite the process but we try to be as patient as can be when their is food involved. And we know the routine extremely well—-Food bowl for some food, then to the counter for our Healthy Hip treat, back to food bowl to finish dry food and then back to counter to lick the spoon from whatever special stuff we got on our food. Then I (Aspen) goes under the table to wait and Dakota goes to the couch to wait for the ready for our morning walk. Life is Good!

Jolie is 10 now and sleeps in while I turn on the coffee maker and get breakfast started, but the moment I open the closet door for my robe she’s up and beats me to the door to get Grandpa’s paper. While I read the headlines she sniffs the yard and then we both go in and she hops onto the bed for a little belly rub from GP and a brief nap while I cook breakfast. Life is good for the three ofus.

Coffee outside with the fur-babies; 3 cats & a dog. All of them circling our feet and ‘hurrying’ talk while the Go-Go juice drips. Keurig only makes us wait 2 minutes for a cup. Everyone approves:D

All four at back door (one is a kitty,) wanting out. Kitty in to eat, doggies in for treat. Kitty and husky back out, non-huskies back in for as many treats as they can con me out of (not many.) Husky wants an adventure (walk, bike run when nice out.) Kitty back in for nap. Non-huskies chilling out under my feet while I have coffee. Husky summoning me… gotta go.

    LOL love the post today!
Mika and Lesus’s routine is waking Mark and I up in the morning…jumping around the kitchen while I get my shoes on to take them out….then doing a million circles until they find just the right spot to “go” and once they go, their noses go straight up in the air to smell the chill that has been here….and I just know they are anxiously awaiting the snow to come.

I lay in wait outside Mom and Dad’s bedroom until one of them gets up, then race them to the patio door. I always win! I go outside, check the perimeter, the squirrel tree, the bird bushes and the rabbits under the shed, then come in for a treat. When the other human gets up, I do it again!

We are their servants after all.

Our morning ritual is when Mom wakes up…we start signing for our breakfast!! The poor girl barely gets her juice and sits down when we start howling away. Hey, she taught us!! BOL!
