Wonder if today would be a good day to stay in bed? Let’s see:
1) The hu-dad has to be in Downtown Waynesville at 7 a.m – about a half hour drive from the house. He is volunteering at the International Festival Day for Folkmoot USA.
2) When he gets done with that around noon, he is going to have to mow the dog lot and our field. That should take the rest of the day, assuming that we don’t have any more thunderstorms. You know, like the one yesterday that dropped 0.91 inches (23 mm) of rain yesterday.
3) Whenever he gets done, he will have a hard time checking email or anything since our internet is still out. Apparently, lightning Thursday evening took the power lines out to the top of Moody Mountain, which is where the repeater sits for our WISP internet provider. During the winter, that would be a high priority since Moody is where Cataloochee Ski Area is, but only our internet needs power in the summer. By the way, that is why our weatherbug to the right of this post is blank. That weather station beside the dog lot is working fine, but no internet means no transmission of data.

Jen got out at 9am to mow, and it started sprinkling soon afterward. She plugged on and managed to get our back done. It’s tough getting mowing done in this heat and then rain!
