P.S. – Don’t let Q-Tip fool you. He spent most of the day sprawled in the den floor in front of the fireplace.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
My gosh, that Q-Tip is sure one goregeous pup!! Glad he warmed up by the fire too 🙂
Ayla sez: Qannik, that last picture of you, all curled up in “Husky Winter Mode” is the pose me’n Ice take, lying just outside the patio door on the deck, in plain sight for the hu-Mom and Dad, and “Uncle Kyle” to see, This means “Can we pleeeez come in, it’s cold out here”!
Qannik you show the perfect White Dog flair for reporting, having a poetic soul…and drama! We loved the “Arctic fetal position” pity poor me shot and we pleased to know that you REALLY were in the stretched in the den soaking up the fireplace warmth position.
We’d like to have some rain right now to melt all this infernal snow away! There are eight inches of snow here if The Herd would like to come and remove it for us!
When did you kidnap our Vox and rename him Q-tip? (I swear they look just alike!) so adorable. When we get the occasional rain here in so cal Vox will stand in the backyard and look up at the sky as if to say, “what the heck is this stuff? this is amazing!”
Exactly. Q just loves soaking up the rain and playing in the mud. That figures since he is all white. Well, at least under the mud on his coat.
…and here we thought he was outside braving the elements the whole time!
Sam
Bless his heart–you should let that poor baby inside! hahahaha!
Mud Season! Woohoo!!! Our Mud Season started last week (before we got another 8 inches of snow and single digit temps). We LOVE Mud Season. Mom? Not so much. But hey, what else is she going to do with her day if she isn’t cleaning mud off the floor? The Great Kibble Provider only demands 8 (or so) hours a day from her…

What lucky dogs!
They have the best of all worlds – cold weather and snow (not enough!) AND a cozy, warm place to snooze!
well, I should HOPE so that he spent the day in front of the fire. I mean, what do you expect? He’s NOT a working dog. He’s a model. You can’t buy that kind of beauty in a bottle you know. it takes work. lots of work resting and de-stressing…
Hello there Qannik,
We are also getting a lot of rain in our part of the world. Strange since it’s suppose to be summertime now.
We do love curling up and taking naps as the rain falls. Good thing we still manage to keep our furs dry… somehow.

Rain…rain…what is this “rain” thing you speak of? *Opens Wikidictionary* Ah, yes, water falling from the sky. I think I remember that from a long, long time ago when I was young.
Writing from an area of the US experiencing drought. Although we did get a *little* rain this weekend.
