Sunday Morning Snow

Normally, we prepare our blog posts the night before, but our drive over to Winterfest and back was long and it did not happen Saturday night. So sorry for the late Sunday morning post, but the good part is that you can see why we decided not to take the RV over this weekend and turned it into a day trip in the Jeep instead.

Funny story (and yes we wish we had video).  The hu-dad decided that this morning would be a great day to sleep late, so The Herd was being quiet about their waking up.  Except that it was song time.  Normally, song time in the morning is this raucous chorus on the porch or in the dog yard, but everyone was still in the bedroom.  So, it was solved by having song time in the bedroom.  Very melodic and LOUD.

The hu-dad is now awake and talking to every pup trying to wake up enough to handle turnout of the dogs from the bedroom to the dog yard.  Frankie is laying upside down in his lap, Qannik is resting on his head on the hu-dad’s shoulder, Rusty is laying across his legs and Kiska, Natasha and Cheoah are laying around the room.

Song time #2 erupts.  Five Sibes singing loud, but Frankie is enjoying his upside down morning chest scratch, so can’t sit up to sing.  Problem solved – he sings laying upside down across the hu-dad’s lap.

Just one of those great Siberian Husky moments.

Oh, what a video THAT would’ve made. Gonna have to start taking vidcam to bed with you at night! There is NOWHERE you can escape the chances to capture a Sibe on video! I repeat, NOWHERE!

Dave likes singing while he’s under the desk, helping Mom at the computer. His voice echoes in there and it sounds really cool!
We might get snow tonight. Might.

Sounds like a pretty nice start to the weekend to me! I hope you had a great time on your day trip. I can’t wait to hear more about that. I bet Winterfest was a blast!

Usually the group song stories make me miss our song leader, but this time, I’m not sure I miss it so much!

Sure wish there was video, but you paint a great picture with the words. I would like to know how you breath with all that husky on top of you? It would also seem that in addition to just trying to wake up enough to start turn-out, etc. you also have to bring your limbs back to life from the weight of your leg and shoulder warmers 😉

I can bay on my back too! Not quite the same acoustic range but it gets the job done.
