Some Beach

Cheesewhiz RV face!

By the time you read this post, the RV will be loaded with supplies – and The Herd – and we will be on the road to Huntington Beach State Park for our annual Christmas week at the beach.  We will take you along throughout the week with our adventures and lots and lots of pictures.

When you think of beach songs, you may not think of country music but we, well, always think of country music.  And this song captures the spirit of WHY everyone wants to get away for a bit better than any I know – Blake Shelton and Some Beach.

What is your favorite beach song?  Feel free to leave us a link in the comments so we have lots of music to listen to during our vacation.

Being Saturday, today is also the Pet Blogger Hop.  Feel free to join in the fun and meet some new pups.

Have you heard the song by Charlie Allen? It’s called “Grandpa’s Recipe.” Check it out at http://www.charlieallenmusic.com/index.htm

Lately I have been considering starting my own Dog Blog. I even have the perfect name for it—The Rat Patrol—because that is what my dad calls my Chihuahuas all the time, based off the “fact” that he read somewhere they’re known as Mexican rats because of their size.

I think Mojo and daisy would get a kick out of having their own voice, lol. Hope the Herd has a great time at the beach!

Start it up and let us know. Amazing how many people you get to know through writing a blog.

Problem is, I wouldn’t know where to begin! I can’t pay for anything right now, being unemployed–I’ve just thought a Dog Blog would be great way to escape from that trouble for a bit each day, or every other day or so. And all the DB’s I’ve visited make it look like so much fun!

Anyone know of any good servers that are free?

Woo-hoo, road trip! We’ll be checking in all week to watch the madness…er…fun.

Mom says her favorite beach songs are just the old Beach Boys ones… if we find something more interesting, we’ll post a link.

ps. i’m writing this while I stare at 14 travel packs of kleenex that the HUSKY got into while Mr. WD and I were holiday shopping. she litterally now can OPEN DOORS and open draws and boxes on our shelves… i swear I don’t leave shit out! damn sibe.

    • D.K. Wall on December 17, 2011 at 9:06 pm

But of course she can open doors. She is a Siberian. Natasha does it all the time.

Yes, but Her Evilness is specially gifted.

I never grow weary of the Cheese wiz face! Sigh. Lookin’ forward to how Frankie responds. something tells me he will LOVE it. He seems outgoing, carefree and not afraid of a thing.

re song: probably NOT up your boat but La Isla Bonita by Madonna. don’t know why. Probably because it was a spring break song in college and we’d head to Lyme and Old Lyme (yes i’m originally from the east coast) listening to it. even if you’re not a madonna fan, that one is a fun song.

PS: And we totally understand about memories of Kodiak.

Ohhh I got all excited when I read the beginning…I thought finally I’d get to meet the Herd! But alas…I live at the west coast variety of Huntington Beach. Have fun! Anything by Jack Johnson should make you beach days very relaxing.

The beach is best in winter! I love the song and it will soon go on my iPod. I had never heard it before.

I’m sure you already have my two favorite beach songs. “Stay” and “Under the Boardwalk”

This first Christmas at the beach without Kodiak will surely cause a lump in your throat. I’m so glad you and the Herd have Frankie.

  14. Amy@GoPetFriendly on December 17, 2011 at 10:11 am

Yea! I can’t wait to hear what Frankie thinks of the RV and the beach. Kodi will be there with you guys …

    • D.K. Wall on December 17, 2011 at 7:04 am

Oh yes. Walking past that spot on the beach will be difficult – but is something we will all do at sunrise and reflect on all of the good times with Kodiak.
