Ah…just beautiful. Hope the weather is good for hiking.

Isn’t there supposed to be white stuff in them thar hills? 😉 (Don’t feel bad; while it has been cold lately, we haven’t had a decent snow in AGES – something that makes Dad happy because he doesn’t have to plow the driveway, but makes for a crunchy wrestling mat for us…) But it’s beautiful!

You guys are all surrounded by such beauty. Both of my kids are looking at Boulder, Colorado for their next education adventures – I am sincerely hoping it works out, as I plan to hit the road with the pups and go up and visit and let them hike and play in snow… maybe move there myself someday. Who knows? We are so deprived here by a terrible lack of nature’s beauty except of course for the wide open skies… But I crave mountains! So I love when you share your views.

Is that your view for thesunset?

    I am so jealous.

Those pictures were taken during a recent hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Thunderstruck Ridge. This time of year, the parkway is closed for the winter near our house and it is one of our favorite winter hiking spots. Unfortunately, many of the trail heads to the trails we like are not accessible in the winter because of closed roads.
