Ruby Tuesday – First Ever Beach Trip

Ruby and Tartok here to tell you about our First Ever Beach Trip.

Sure, we got to hang out with our crazy cousins, The Herd, who have been to the beach many times.

But walking on the beach and sniffing all of those strange smells were new to us.

Sometimes you had to just sniff really hard to get all the great smells in.

And then the things you saw . . .

Like all of these little birds that just ran along the shore and were so tempting to chase.

We were in awe of the noise the waves made as they came to shore.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back - even if we have to go with our crazy cousins.

As the hu-dad was assembling this post, he noticed something interesting about that last picture.  Do you see it?  Let us zoom in.

Dolphin breaking the surface!

Yep, the hu-dad was trying and trying to capture a picture of the dolphins that morning, but failed.  He had no idea that he had caught one in this picture until he was finishing this blog post.

Nice capture – even if it was by mistake!

I’m reading this and nodding and thinking we all remember our first time…

    Hello Herd!
Wow! So many huskies at the beach, looks like a sibe beach party!
Did you chase those birdies? They sure do look very tempting!

    Cheers,
    Maxx

Sibes and dolphins and terns, oh my! I do not like the sound of waves crashing but I DO love to breathe in the glorious salty air…and of course, run on the sand. What a great first experience, Ruby and Tartok had. Hu-dad’s photo is cool serendipity!

Love the photo of you guys smelling up a storm.

OH WOW! A dolphin. My mom loves dolphins.

I’m guessing Ruby and Tartok plan to go to the beach more often now!

When I showed my husband the picture of you all walking on the beach he said, “Is that Cesar?” DK, the Sibe Whisperer!!

One of my favourite places to take my dog is the beach. Watching her tear up and down the sand with a big grin just makes my day.

Thanks for sharing your outing with us!

The Dolphin probably wanted to play fetch with the pack. Did you throw a tennis ball out?

Cool! The beach is awesome…you should do some digging for pie-rate treasure! I mean, it’s pies! 🙂

  14. Houndstooth on January 4, 2011 at 12:10 pm

Bunny felt the same way when she was at the beach for the first time back in October! Hu-Dad lucked out more than I did with the dolphin pictures, though. You are very lucky to be able to get to the beach so often! Total envy from here!

Seeing anything in it’s natural wild state gives me huuuuuuge chills and goose bumps! Capturing it on film is extra wonderful. What an awesome surprise, for you, to find you managed to capture this dolphin!

    Happy tails!

Neat! We’ve never seen a dolphin that close to shore here. We love the beach too–seeing your pictures makes me want to get out there soon!!

    That is so cool!!

  18. HUSKYS RULE on January 4, 2011 at 9:44 am

Nothing like the smell of salty beach air as I see they enjoyed! The dolphin in the last pic is awesome! Did Ruby or Tartok venture into the waves?? Saw them testing the water!

Other visitors must have thought that there was a Sibe convention underway at the beach. Eight of you all walking together would be quite a sight!

Love the dolphin! I spent tons of time on east coast beaches as a youngster and I never saw one. You’re very lucky!

Do Sibes play in the waves? Labs do!

Merdie and Harley said they SO understand the khrazy khousin ‘thing’ –

Of khourse, I tend to think those Goldens are REALLY the khrazy ones!

Great pikhs – especially The Land Shark 😉

Yep, we are always surprised by what is captured in a photo without one being aware of it – but never anything as good as yours. We so hope to get to the beach one day, almost as much as our hope for snow:)
