Foto Friday

We like the concept of Foto (Photo) Friday that we have seen on a few blogs, so this makes the second week in a row that we have done this.  Who knows if  we will continue it.  We are Sibes.  Rules mean nothing to us.

Anyway, we told you on Wednesday how the hu-dad was waiting on the setting sun and just happened to capture a perfect series of pictures of Queen Natasha the Evil being Evil.  For those who asked, no, there was no blood drawn.  That was just her style of a warning.  And rest assured that all of The Herd hears the warning and gets out of the Queen’s way.

Yesterday, we showed you the attempts to get a picture of Qannik.  The hu-dad barely knows Photo Shop, so he does not really know how to take the intruders out of those pictures.  He promises to learn some day.

So that brings us to today – Foto Friday.  We were enjoying watching the sun set over the mountain ranges and realized what a beautiful color was being cast on the dogs.  We took several photos, but loved the colors cast on Q’s white coat.  We know we need to do some Photoshopping to the picture, but see that previous paragraph where the hu-dad knows so little about the software.

Have a great weekend!

Sun setting over the distant ranges.

Q with sunset hues.

Wow, what beautiful photos. The first one almost looks unreal, like a painting of sorts.

Qannik looks cools! Love the mountain ranges too.

Please leave in the “accidents” of real life and the sometimes awkward bits and pieces…they add context and life to what you capture. Photography is about the magic of capturing the moment, to us, not in the making it perfect. Speaking of perfect, Qannik couldn’t be more splendid! Please continue your Foto Fridays!

Both photos are spectacular – the sunset and it reflecting on Qannik’s gorgeous face!!!!!! I like the foto friday concept.

That is an amazing shot of your mountains! I love to sew and can easily see that done in an art quilt.

Q’s coat picks up the setting sunlight beautifully. There’s something about that glow on white fur!

That sunset photo looks like a painted work of art… chock full o the poetry, I can almost hear what you were hearin…

And Qannik looks awesome. I can’t imagine what you would photoshop!

I love your Foto Friday, but I also love when you break the rules, on a counta you all ways have fun when you do!!!

Love the mountain sunset! How high up are you? Are you still camping?

Q looks gorgeous in that light. Ok, in any light.

I’m photo shop challenged myself. I keep telling myself I’m going to work my way through different books and tutorials. Talk is cheap!

    • D.K. Wall on December 3, 2010 at 8:47 am

That picture was taken from an elevation of about 6200 feet (1900 meters). And, nope, not camping – that is a favorite spot not too far from our house.

  18. Houndstooth on December 3, 2010 at 6:57 am

Both of those pictures are gorgeous! It reminds me of something I’d see on KB’s blog, but she doesn’t have a white dog to get a reflection like that! Rusty is my favorite to read about and see antics from, but Q really has my vote for most photogenic. Well, they’re all my favorite for some different reason or another…

  19. Holly and Khady on December 3, 2010 at 1:55 am

    GORGEOUS sunset photo!!

Oh, and Q is looking rather gorgeous himself!!!

We don’t use photoshop either. We just use our camera software to crop out what we don’t want. That’s about all the technical stuff mom can handle.

Well, I think they’re beautiful photographs. Thanks 🙂
