Rusty Jingle Bells

Our pal Norwood surprised us with a very special gift for this Saturday’s Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation Downtown Dog Walk – a bear bell just like the Nordude wears!  He asked that Rusty wear the bell, so that is what is happening.  And since Twink suggested we should be practicing our walking rather than Siberian Husky Calisthenics, so we went out for a walk, too.  The combined result is in this video:

P.S. – Khyra, I believe this counts as a Walking Wednesday video, too, though we recognize that this is really Whitney’s Whicked Whednesday.

That bell could get awfully annoying after a while 🙂 Go Rusty!

Very, very cool, Rusty is walking proud. Is Christmas almost here, we think our coat thickened up a little.

We are totally disgusted by the Bear-Bear story and hope the monster gets what is coming to him.

Hu-Dad, how on earth did you manage to train 6 huskies walking nicely in a straight line without dragging you everywhere? Can you please share your secret with me?

I hope the authorities will find justice for Bear Bear. This is so tragic and I hope that idoit officer gets his punishment. He should be banned from carrying a gun. He’s a nutter!

    Love,

    The Missus

PS: We want to get the bells too!

Christmas bells – just what we needed to help us feel cooler. Great addition to the pack’s jingles. And the added feature of helping you know which one is Rusty, just in case you ever forget:)

So sad to hear that story of Bear Bear. We hope justice is served to the shooter.

“Jingle bells, jingle bells… jingle all the wayyyyyy…”
All we need now is some snow! Oh… snow. Sigh. Wouldn’t that be great?!?!
Hey, Rusty! You could get a job with those Salvation Army bell-ringer guys!

Our dogs wear bear bells too! I’m so happy for the herd that they’ll jingle as they walk!!!!! I’m also glad to hear that you’ve been practicing your walking so you don’t embarrass all your sponsors 🙂

Our bear bells have worked beautifully in warning off bears before our dogs arrive. When K was a 8 month old teenager, she chased a bear out of the woods and straight at us. Obviously, we’re all still here to talk about it so it was OK. It’s never happened again, likely partly due to her bell.

I didn’t post it so as NOT to humiliate a neighbor but I caught wildlife video of her dog chasing a bear. She’s getting a bell for her dog and is staying away from the berry patch until later this fall. It feels good that my wildlife cams can actually help the bears a little.

Nice synchronized walkies you has going there!

  13. norwood on August 4, 2010 at 8:41 am

Roo Roo YaROoooster!Jingle Bell Boy! With you wearing the bell it sounds like snow and christmas are right around the corner… well and a bud. Ha ha. Yipee I’m so excited! And nice synchronized walking so we can get a full shot of the entire herd. I just hope no one is jealous that Rooster boy gets to wear the bell.

Oh that story about Bear Bear is awful. What a MF-ing Moron. That cop should at least loose his job or perhaps get charged with a crime? Band of brothers working here. So incredibly sad.

Oh for your readers- I purchased the bear bell from cleanrun.com it’s $3.50.. very reasonable if anyone else cares to warn prey in advance or just jingle.

Every time I hear Norwood’s bell, I just love it! Rusty wears it so well! Now Bunny’s going to pester me to ask Norwood where he got it, I just know it. Perhaps between the Siberian muscle and the Greyhound speed the dogs can put Santa’s reindeer out of work!

I think the blogging community is reeling from the news of Bear-bear. Just how safe are our dogs?

P.S. – the video is very tinkly and cheerful!

Great jingles Rusty. Love the 6 in a line, well done the herd.

How on earth did that policeman not get into trouble for shooting an innocent dog, what was he doing walking to the dog park with a gun?? What a horrible man, wonder how gun happy he is when he is on duty??!! Sadly the police always stick together. The whole incident is very upsetting, what a waste of a beautiful dog. It makes me sick, the poor family.
