In one of our comments yesterday, Mogley G. Retriever asked about some of the best sources of news on the Iditarod. Here are a couple to get you started:
The official website – http://www.iditarod.com/
The current standings – http://www.iditarod.com/race/race/currentstandings.html – This can take a little while to get used to reading.
The Alaska Daily News is a great source for stories on the race – http://www.adn.com/
The North Wapiti Blog is updated regularly and gives you a great view into our favorite team – http://www.northwapiti.blogspot.com/
Mike Criss has some excellent photography on his blog that I highly recommend – http://www.akphotograph.com/Alaska%20Blog/
Hope that helps!

What Weather When?
March 26, 2023
How do you dress for a day in the Western North Carolina Mountains? Just answer what weather when? Good luck with that.
Way Back Wednesday
Each week, we reach back into our vault of over 4,700 previous posts and share a favorite. We hope you enjoy this look back.
Undercarriage Dog Wash
Q-tip loves hanging out in the yard, particularly on a rainy, muddy day like Sunday—even if it does mean he needs an undercarriage dog wash.
Predator? Oh surely not! Scavenger? Ummmm, maybe …
Ruby looks totally innocent. 🙂
Tartok has a cool face pattern! 🙂
Thanks for the great links!
Looks more like an observer to me..!
Do I see some stalking?
Being a sous chef does not = predator. I mean come on… all good sous chefs taste the meal before it’s served and help clean up. Jeepers.
We can tell woo are totally innocent, Ruby. We know woo would never do whatever they said it was that you did but it wasn’t you who did it.
jack a-roo & moo too
Me and Quinn look just like that RIGHT now! There is a roast pork slow cooking in garlic and beer and we are making sure it stays safe!
Those pups look very well behaved in the kitchen if you ask me! Thanks for the iditarod links!
Ruby, we don’t believe a word of it! You a predator!!
Ruby, you are doing a great job watching over the kitchen!
A predator? Wasn’t the predator the scary beastie in that movie? I don’t think Ruby looks like him at all.
Predator(s)? What are you talking about. I like to pay attention to kitchen detail too, but nobody calls me that. Linguini gets called a counter surfer though. Great job on looking so innocent for the photos!
If it is on or near the floor, it’s ours. That does include the counter. Make the most of it while you can.
Thanks for the links. WOOOOOO!
Paws and sleds
Ozzie and Zozo
I don’t think you are any kind of predator!
Ha roo roooo- love the expression on Tartok!!!
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
They are all just jealous because you know how to get extra noms and it’s clearly because your are extra cute!
Wags and Woofs,
Mack and Mia
Yeah, I’m with Zackt! Us redheads ALWAYS get blamed! Well… unless you’re Ammy. She never gets blamed for anything.
Predator??? I saw that movie with Pops, and Ruby is NOTHING like a Predator. She’s much better looking!
My dearest Ruby… you are as cute as you can be but you are not fooling anybody. I’ve witnessed your sibeness first hand. That face is pure trouble.
Snikhkering at Zackt’s khomment about always blaming the redheads!
Keep up the good work Ruby!
Khyra & Khousin Merdie
Ah, that last picture, it’s the famous “sneak up behind your human with pleading eyes and wait until you think you see something drop!” Nope, not a predator, not in the least. Maybe a scavenger?
Thanks for the Iditarod links – I haven’t ever really followed it, but am hearing more about it this year than ever before.
How would you like it if some buddy gave you a bad name just because you like to walk around different parts of your OWN HOME, and check things out. I say, go wherever your nose takes you, Ruby!
We can’t figure out WHY they would think you were a kitchen predator!!! HEHEHE!
Woofs and Kisses!
You look like a helper, not a predator. I can’t believe anyone would dare call you that!
Ohhhhhh Ruby….we don’t know why humans or our bros and sis sometimes told that bad things about us sweet dogs!!!!!
You look soooooo cute!!!!
And thanks for all those great link!!!!
Mommy is a fan of Iditarod and she would love to be there!!!!!
HAve a wonderful week!!!
Sweet kisses and licks
There is my bee-woo-tiful Ruby, my kindred spirit, my soulmate.
My mom used to live in Alaska. She didn’t really follow the Iditarod but the Yukon Quest was huge (she lived in Fairbanks).
I have no idea where Ruby got such a reputation!
Thanks for the Iditarod sites!
I walked into the kitchen yesterday and Peanut was standing ON THE TABLE!!!! I think she was checking out the counters!!!! Love my sibes!!
They just don’t understand that you are there for them…should they spill or drop something you are there to clean it up so they don’t have to. You are only trying to make them have to do less work (hehe).
Licks & Nibbles,
Kody & Nia
Woos! So who cares about reputation? It is all about what woo get!
Thanks for the links on the iditarod!
-Kira The BeaWootiful
I like to keep up with the Iditarod!!!

Husky at Heart

Lots of licks
MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA
Sigh…..they always blame it on us redheads…
That is such an unfair reputation. Martha tends to get labelled with that but she is only wanting to lend a paw!
