Dogs of Winterfest – Part 1

As we mentioned yesterday, we went Saturday to the Alaska Serum Run Re-enactment hosted by Siberian Husky Assist.  Lots of things to do at the event, but one of the really fun things to do is watch all of the other dogs, as Qannik is showing us.

Qannik watches all of the dogs of Winterfest

Today, we will share pictures of non-Siberian Huskies (well, some Siberians will be in the pictures, but the feature is non-Siberian).  Tomorrow, we will share pictures exclusively of the Siberian Huskies that we saw.  Hope you enjoy a couple of days of dog pictures.  We sure enjoyed seeing them all.

Hi - glad to meet you.

I have more colors than you do !

So bright I need to wear shades.

Puppyhood!

Whoa! Lots of dogs to go meet.

I’m the king of spectating – far more convenient than participation. Qannik looks just about to spring into action…

Thank you for the kind words of sympathy over the death of mom’s dad. We felt the love all of the way to Chicago and back!

It is always fun to see other dogs, even though we are so partial to our own kind. We did like that multi-colored one a lot.

I agree with KB about the first picture, when I saw it, I thought Oh, oh, this looks like trouble!

I’d love a bunch of Dog pictures, although you know I am very partial to the Herd!

    Kisses,
    Stella

Great pictures! You won’t hear any complaints from us about seeing several days of dog pictures!

Did you know that cyclists complete the Iditod route every year? That’s how I found my snow bike idea plus many of my tricks for staying warm. I read the blogs of the participants.

The bike race is at a different time than the dog sled race. But, I know that the dogs are way faster!!!

In that very first dog photo, I don’t think that the two dogs are truly happy to see each other. In fact, they look on the verge of a tussle (and not a nice one). Glad that didn’t happen!

Ooooo i sure wish we got to see that inactment. juno could never do that though. she could entertain the “troops” though, with her siberian pilates, tricks and general charm. oh wait, any siberian can be entertaining…

    🙂
