As we mentioned yesterday, we are playing with updating our header picture on the blog.  The current picture was taken during the summer months, so it is very green.  We took advantage of the snow this week to take some new pictures.  Of the four pictures below, which is your favorite (and feel free to tell us why)?  Your comments are very welcomed!  As always, you can click on any picture to get a bigger version.

Number 2 followed by 4. 2 for the regal look and 4 for the more wild look. Hope that you Christmas was a great one!!!!

  2. Canine Crusader on December 24, 2009 at 10:03 am

Great pictures, again! We vote #2. Merry Christmas to you all!

  3. Kit on December 24, 2009 at 12:29 am

I vote for #2!!! But they are all great shots, w/ beautiful subjects!

  4. Mochi on December 23, 2009 at 11:58 pm

They’re all great! Hmm…I think I like #2 the best!

I love how Kiska is posing in #3! 🙂

  5. Elmo & Mouse on December 23, 2009 at 5:14 pm

#1 or #4, I prefer #4 cause it shows some personalities of the herd (or part of the herd).

  6. Steve and Kat on December 23, 2009 at 2:43 pm

So while they are all really good, I think I will pick #2. I like that angle and for the most part, you are all looking at the camera. Kodiak is also covering your human’s legs for the most part and we know that there is no place for a human on the Herd’s blog.

Wooos! I like #4! Shows a thundering herd effect!

  9. achieve1dream on December 23, 2009 at 8:26 am

I like the first one except for Kiska’s and Kodiak’s expressions.

My favorite though is four! I love the interaction between Kiska and Qannik. Also love Kodiak’s stare and how Rusty is trying to pull away to do his own thing. I would definitely go with four. 🙂

  10. Mika on December 23, 2009 at 12:49 am

I like 2 or 4. 2 is more centered than 1 up and down wise. 4 has some of your personalities. The most “perfect” picture would be 2.

  11. Houndstooth on December 22, 2009 at 11:56 pm

I like number two, but it’s very close with number four! They all look like they’re about to start laughing in that fourth one!

  12. Bice on December 22, 2009 at 10:18 pm

Even though Kiska is stunning in #2, #3 and #4, I have to vote for #2!

  13. Denns the Vizsla on December 22, 2009 at 10:04 pm

I like #1, because it looks like everyone is facing the correct angle for their position in the line!

  14. Wild Dingo on December 22, 2009 at 9:54 pm

ooo….so many votes for 4! but so many like 1 or 2 too… i think i like 4 best, cuz it’s discombobulated, thundering, lots of expression… not perfect, but yet symetrical enough!

  15. Jack on December 22, 2009 at 9:01 pm

Hmmmm, I think I like #2 – just look at that paw formation they’ve got going on the left — “right paw forward…NOW!”. Furry impressive pack-work.

    a-roos to yous,

One is my favourite and if your hu-dad was worth his chops he could photoshop your leashes and those person legs out of that photo.

  18. Teddy Bear on December 22, 2009 at 6:50 pm

You all look pawesome in the snow. #1 because you all are focused on the same thing…what was it?

    Love,
    Teddy Bear

  19. Samantha on December 22, 2009 at 6:46 pm

I like Four. Because they’re all moving with each other, but they all have a little bit of a different expression on their faces. Qannik’s barky face is too cute!

  20. Clive on December 22, 2009 at 6:07 pm

No.2 is the vote of the Irish jury!

We thought you might like to see the husky sleigh ride alright! It was an amazing experience for the NLSM – one he still talks about three years later!

    love and woofs

  21. Suka on December 22, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Number 2!! Definitely Number 2!! They are all great photos, and all you pups look just beautiful! But my eyes keep going to picture Number 2 because I think all of you look your very best in that photo.

    Suka

  22. Sue on December 22, 2009 at 2:11 pm

Loved number two…they all look happy and they look like they are a really well behaved pack of puppies 🙂

  23. Lynn on December 22, 2009 at 12:48 pm

    #4, followed closely by #2.

  24. Michelle R on December 22, 2009 at 12:33 pm

#2 looks the most formal (and I like how everyone has one paw forward), but 4 definitely shows the most character!

  25. Sally on December 22, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Thank you for visiting my blog.
I love your pitures and my favorit is number 4.
    Your are sooooo beautiful.

I guess I’m the only one who liked #3 – it just seemed to jump out at me!

  27. Murphydog on December 22, 2009 at 11:44 am

I vote for #1 or #2….Mom agrees with me (which is as it should be!)

We wanted to send you a link to a terrible story in our local Denver paper. 108 counts of animal cruelty are being filed against the owners of Huskys. The owners failed to feed the animals and five starved to death before authorities moved in. The Herd needs to help us send up a “howl” about this incident.

    Number 1, please!

  33. husky mom on December 22, 2009 at 9:50 am

Numero 4 has most accurate positions.

  34. Stella on December 22, 2009 at 9:49 am

Number 4 is the only one for me, full of spirit and movement. Its just THEM, moving along, pulling and loving their Sibe lives.

    Cheers,
    Jo and Stella

  35. KB on December 22, 2009 at 9:26 am

The dogs look like they’re most organized and well-behaved in #2. I can see everyone’s face.

But, in #4, they look like a tribe of wild Sibes. In control but with lots of spirit.

I’m having trouble choosing because the two are so different – but I think that I’d choose 4 for the spirit!

  36. Jeanine on December 22, 2009 at 9:11 am

I like number one! They are so fabulous!!

  37. The OP Pack on December 22, 2009 at 8:39 am

We like all of them, but #1 seems most appropriate with five of the pups in step together and Rusty being the different one:)

    Woos, Phantom and Thunder

  38. Becky on December 22, 2009 at 8:38 am

    #4 for sure.

Has Qannik been doing some modeling?? There’s an ad in the current issue of Smoky Mountain Living for a jewelry store in Waynesville that has a beautiful
    white ‘Qannik look-a-like’ in it!!

    Enjoy the snow!!

    • D.K. Wall on December 22, 2009 at 9:04 am

Chuckling. No, Becky, that is not Qannik. But we know the store owners and the Sibe. Highly recommend them for unique jewelry if you find yourself in Waynesville. They have done some repair work as well as some new pieces.

  39. Khumbu on December 22, 2009 at 7:25 am

Has to be number 4 for me, great picture

  40. Husky Daddy jamie on December 22, 2009 at 5:59 am

Gotta go with #4 – even tho Rusty and Cheoah seem somewhat distracted, and Kiska is attempting to correct them -lol. Alternately, #2 would be a close second, being the most symetrical.

  41. Wild Dingo on December 22, 2009 at 4:52 am

    #4 looks “thundering”

  42. Wild Dingo on December 22, 2009 at 3:48 am

    2 and 4.
in 1: Kiska looks depressed, that’s why i like 2 better. they all have similar expressions in 1 & 2, except kiska, who looks better in 2. tho the reds are slightly out of focus in 2. but i think expression rules over perfection in focus.

3 is out because i don’t like the angle. too messy. but that’s a sibe i guess! and it’s the most out of focus. good dogs TTH-dad, stop eating the pot brownies before your walkies!

4, i like because QNtheEvil is in the middle, as she should be. Looking very serious. Quannik looks playful and Kiska has an awesome expression on her face. And Rusty is being rusty, doin his own thang.

  43. Holly and Khady on December 22, 2009 at 1:56 am

I definitely think one or two. They are soooo similar! The formation is great and the pups all look fabulous! The alignment looks really good in number one also.

hmmm i likes one and two…. but one best
