Day After the Storm

Well, the main snow event appears to be over.  That is assuming you do not count the 4-6 inches of snow that is supposed to fall Saturday night and the 1-2 inches that is supposed to fall Sunday morning.  Shrug.  That seems like flurries at this point.  But “they” are calling for sun on Monday.  Since it is the weekend, the humans have not had to worry about getting to work (though they apparently did get out on Saturday to get human food – a concern we did not have since we were well stocked in Herd food).  So we want to share some pictures from the last couple of days with you:

Walking through the field was fun – the snow was up over the humans knees.  Some day (we hear that a lot), our hu-dad plans to fence this field in.  Our hu-dad thought about that a lot today because he really wanted to see us have a large place to run and play in the snow.  Soon, he promises, soon.

Do your humans have snowshoes so they can keep up with the Herd? I think you could go a lot faster in the fenced field with no human anchor!

That’s a lot of snow – certainly much more than we got. They seem like a pack of happy campers out there.

I say yes to fencing the field! I think they would have so much fun!

    hi TTH
Ah yes.. off leash is so much easier on my human. We don’t have a yard either… hence she carries hot dogs on her all the time. We found a nice safe area for off leash moments. A simple walk doesn’t do it for me. A run maybe.. but I need to zoom around.

I love your trails… how many miles do you walk/hike a week

SNOW! I am SO there! Well, in Spirit at least! Right now, I just have to live vicariously through you. I have neither snow nor cold, so looking at all your beautiful snowy-filled photos, and watching your Snow Walk video, brings peace to my Malamute heart! Thank you for sharing! And tell your hu-dad to get that fence up! You pups need your big open field to run and play, especially on these amazing snowy days!

We put ours on horse leashes up to 30 feet long for them to run around! Beautiful snow! I’m so jealous! 74* here today!

Your birdbath looks like some sort of super-sized mushroom cap there!!! And yes, get that fence in, imagine the fun you all could have then.

Dude, call my fence guy Mario. He’ll come put in cheep deer fence for around your property so they can run. I know, I know, totally NOT herd escape prevention, but if you use it for supervising off leash… it doesn’t have to be full proof.

oh i don’t know if my guy Mario travels that out of Santa Cruz mountains…

sigh. get that fence in! (don’t make me come over there and rescue them from their leashes.) your six totally deserve it! ya maaaaan! 🙂

I think that your hu-dad should start fencing today! Then, you’d have a big play area tomorrow 🙂

I must say that it looked like you had a blast going for a walk as a herd. That’s a lot of snow to plow through. Ask your Hu-dad to buy you some snowshoes. It makes deep snow much easier!

    Have fun today!!!!
