Importance of Stretching

When you hike as much as The Herd does, it is very important to stretch before exercise.  But be sure to do your stretches very slowly and always using proper form.  Natasha will demonstrate the proper way to stretch.

Great stretches! I don’t have a wall, but I think my futon will work out good for the stretches! 🙂

um, Natasha, that series you just did is known as Bikram’s Half Moon pose. a half moon stretch to the right, left and back bend in the shape of a crescent moon. it’s the first exercise in a series of 26 poses in a room that’s heated from 101-105 degrees. I don’t know… tho you look pretty yoga pro, something tells me you probalby never do much of anything in that kind of heat…

You demonstrate things so well, Natasha. We are going to go try to find a stone wall to practice our stretches too.

    Happy hiking.

What a little athlete! It’s understandable why you’d need to get in shape, I bet you and your pack go on tons of great adventures.

Marge loves to stretch. If we gently lift up her back legs while she’s standing, she stretches allllll the way forward and works out all of those muscles.

Woowoow! Natasha, you are the Doga guru!

We always joke that the dogs have a single all-purpose stretch, the play-bow and then arching the back upward. That’s all they do and they’re ready for action!

Great Natasha picts. If that were Rusty or my R, I’d have been worried that they were preparing to leap over the stone wall!

Maybe woo khan get an exercise programme on The Animal Planet?
