Been reading your site old stories. I almost DIED when i read about how Nikita built a ladder to get out of her yard to see the boxer and knew enough to come back before you got home! I KNOW my sibe is that smart. She’s escaped so many times. I had to laugh at your first attempt-a 4 foot fence. too funny. but thankfully, my sibe is mellow when Loki is around and she doesn’t consider being naughty. I never considered a sibe before. I got one because my GSD/Formosan mix LOVED playing with the malamutes and husky mixes at the park. he’s a rough player (btw: your wrestling video= TAME! LOL!). Even when I saw my dog-park friend’s dog car (he has 4 malamute/husky mixes he brings to the park that played with Loki)… his car, completely torn to shreds…I thought, nah, he just has bad dogs… but dang I could NOT believe how destructive such a cute, sweet little thing could be. (did you read my post on the Husky who ate my Mini Cooper?). I adore my sibe. But she’ll likely be my first and last one because I don’t think i could deal with that much naughtiness! (and believe me, Loki’s the “naughty” one…he was “aggressive” and now rehabilitated and just great.) At the dog show i saw a license plate that read “8HUSKIES” and i thought… i would give myself a hole in the head with that many huskies. I simply LOVE this breed and dog but I don’t think i have the power to have more than the ONE that i have now! and I love her! And probably would go ga-ga over your herd on a trail…i’d be one of the peoople who’d WANT to say hi! (ya we do the same thing, ignore anyone who isn’t interested in our gorgeous quadrapeds.)

BTW: my husky does have a recall… yes indeed. it takes LOTS of work, but she has one and it’s pretty darn descent. she’s fearful of my husband, so he’s working her obedience/training a lot. the other day he said he accidentally let go of her leash to fix a tangle in the other dog’s collar and she came right back to him on recall, even tho her recall to “him” isn’t as strong as it is with me (she’s still fearful of him). thank god. Yes, i know they’re runners. but I’m determined to keep her recall and down-stay training up, becuase you NEVER know when its gonna rain hot dogs!

Happy 4th Thundering Herd! Just love yoru stories!
