Happy Mom’s Day

We often get the question as to why we have six Siberian Huskies.  My usual answer is, because I don’t have room for seven.  Of course, my answer to why we had three used to be that we didn’t have room for four.

Regardless, we recognize that taking six dogs somewhere can be a handful.  While we were down in Asheville on Saturday, we noticed another big family with five little ones:

Now here is a cool part of the story.  This family was trying to cross a fairly busy intersection.  A young man walked out into the intersection and stopped traffic in all directions to escort the family across safely.  All of the motorists stopped and smiled.  No one honked.  No one was in a hurry.  Everyone understood the mission.  Cool, huh?

What a perfect picture for Mother’s Day.  So to all mom’s out there – Happy Mom’s Day!

Wroo, Herd! The Girl is finally letting me visit some of my furends! That was a furry nice story about the birdies – of course, I would have tried to chase them. I’m glad I wasn’t there to disrupt such a wonderful scene!

I love your dogs and I’m so glad our blogging-world paths have crossed. We actually bought land in Haywood County before deciding to live in Transylvania instead. Lovely areas, both of them.
