After a few days of rain and wind (got to 43F (6C) with 30 mph (50 kmph) winds yesterday), we are supposed to have a beautiful spring day here (65 F / 18C). Not a cloud in the sky as the sun is rising. Since we are headed out to the trails, thought I would just do some random thoughts this morning.
The problem with running a contest is you have to pick a winner and we really enjoyed all of the entries. But we judged our favorite captions by the ones that made us laugh the most:
Grand Prize Winner
“There is a fly on my nose, nearly got it” – Holly & Zac
Runners-Up (In case the Grand Prize Winner can not fulfill their obligations)
“This is how you pronounce the RR in Spanish. First, visualize the front of your tongue as a flag flapping in a vigorous breeze. Now try purring like a cat. If you’ve succeeded, you are approximating the RR.” – Simcha
“Could someone please put some ketchup on my next grasshopper?” – The Op Pack
As promised the grand prize winner receives our 24 paw salute and hearty thanks. Don’t you feel enriched?
So many people thought the fuzzy butts would make a great header, it gave me an idea. Maybe I will add a picture to my footer and use the fuzzy butts. What do you think?
Twitter is a total and complete waste of time. So, of course, we have joined @ http://twitter.com/Thundering_Herd. Let us know if you are on twitter.
We mentioned the turkeys we saw near our house the other day. They – about 8 of them that we have counted so far – have apparently settled into the woods beside the road we walk every afternoon. This is adding a great deal of excitement to that part of the walk, to put it mildly.
We get a report from our website hosting service every month that shows our traffic (another record month in March where every day we had over 260 unique visitors and 2500 hits – thank you) and some interesting tidbits. Despite Brice’s mention of Qannik’s Attack of the Dog Food Bag, that story in the month of March was still a distant second to Frankencouch. Amazing to me that over 2 years later, Frankencouch still attracts so much attention.
My most faithful reader is having a birthday today. Happy Birthday Mom!
Have a great Saturday!
