A couple of weeks ago, we showed you some black bear tracks near our house. We talked to a neighbor who said they saw a mama bear and 4 cubs. Four! We really found that a little hard to believe, but then another neighbor posted these pictures on Facebook. Yep, four cubs. Wow!
We have not seen them yet ourselves and this is not as exciting as a bear and four cubs, but we did have some other wildlife in our yard yesterday.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
I love it! On our trip, we woke up in one of our favorite camping spots to find a cow herd staring at us through the mist. The dogs went bananas! Fortunately, our cows left just like yours did.
That’s the biggest dog we’ve ever seen!!! Bigger even than The Relentlessly Hooge!
Bobo and Meja (you may keep that big fella!)
Wow…can’t imagine waking up and seeing that in my yard here in Ohio. haha.
Bears? EEEK! Mom says to RUN. (she is terrified of bears and spiders)
What’s up with those cows, they need to learn their abc’s and m’s and w’s better so they can woo properly.
Amazing to see those four bear cubs.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
We’ve never heard of four baby bears. Mama bear will probably be four times as protective as usual.

Woo! I’ve met some of those guys before and you’re right – their “woo” is upside down!
Luv,
Dave
Moo!!! Does the herd moo now??? Are they craving dairy?
Hey… Compare Rusty’s white part on his face to his old picture there on the side–very interesting changes!
I am glad they didn’t go chase that wildlife. She looked fierce!
Wow, 4 babies!! That is unusual for sure.
I wonder what the girls would think of a cow for company?
Ha ha! Those cows are not to be messed with!
I’ve never heard of a bear having four cubs. I wonder if it’s possible she adopted a couple. Just think, if you run into them, it will be an almost even match up!
mmm…Fast food? Okay, I didn’t say that!!!
The cow looks very sweet indeed 🙂
Sending lotsaluv to you all,
MAXMOM IN SOUTH AFRICA
Hi Everybuddy, we have cows live next door to us too but I am very brave and they don’t scare me (much). No worries, and love, Stella
Ahhh, one of those giant cow dogs! There are lots of those in our state. Just not in our yards.
