Drying Out and Camping

The storms have passed, but Norris Lake in Tennessee is certainly over flood stage.

Yes, that is the top of the fence sticking out above the water - and, yes, the fence lines that road that is way under water.

Sitting on this bench did not seem particularly inviting.

And this camp site did not quite seem the right one for us.

Despite the pictures, most of the camp ground is in great shape.  We are high and dry and enjoying a long camping weekend.  Our camp site looks more like this:

Relaxed in our camp site.

And, yes, for those of you who counted, Ruby and Tartok (and the hu-grandmom) from The Herd Annex are also camping with us.

    Ooo exciting a camping trip!

Good choice not to take the flooded site with the floating seat!

Advice for a multiple dog family, we rarely travel with more than two.

Where do you put these guys at night? How do they travel in the motor home.

I would love to know some of your tricks. I’m totally jealous. :o)))

I had a feeling the Herd Annex would be joining you! The flooding has been pretty intense. We passed through Indiana and Ohio yesterday and it seems to be the same story everywhere. I can’t wait to see all the fun you have while you’re on your trip!

  19. KB on April 29, 2011 at 9:17 am

Those are dramatic pictures. Labs just might choose the underwater campsite… so they could swim all day long!

I’m glad that you are all OK and found a nice dry campsite with *green* grass! Have fun!

Those look like some of the scenes from our newspaper’s website of our region –

A tornado did pass through the Ski Roundtop area – which is probably halfway between ‘here’ and where Thor and MP were dropped off by The Siberian Storks 😉

    Happy Khamping!

Don’t furget to liven up the place!

    Khyra

  23. Suka on April 29, 2011 at 2:39 am

That is a lot of water! Be careful, and I hope no more storms go through while you are there.

Nice campsite, and you pups look like you are getting settled in. So, is it time to get the pawty started?!
