Shutting Down the Ski Area

The equipment is being stored for the summer.

The parking lots are empty.

The snow is melting off of the trails.

But our field sure is quiet again for some great romping.

So we switched from watching skiers to sniffing for crawly rodents in our field.

Congratulations to Cataloochee Ski on its 50th season.  We are proud of our neighbor and the great skiing they offer every year.  See you in November!

Go get those rodents! I always think that ski areas look kind of sad after they close… It’s a leftover from my skiing days.

Sniffing for crawly things is probably just as much fun anyway.

I’m sure the snows will be back in no time. But till then, we get to see your tree bloom out! Yay!

You realize that Mom is crying, right? 😉 (Actually, as warm as it has been here, Mom and Dad haven’t been skiing for the last few days because the snow has been “awful” – they are old racers, and apparently mushy snow doesn’t make them happy…) Actually, that’s pretty cool your resort stayed open so long – is this late for them?

Enjoy your new-found peacefulness! (And mud.)

We had fun doing all that sniffing for the past week, and now today we have SNOW!!! It won’t last long, but we sure are going to enjoy it today.

You start and end before us. I’m so ok with the first half of that equation. I bet the dogs disagree…
