Feel free to click on the picture above so you can see a larger version. We were out walking Sunday morning and ran across some very strange tracks in the snow. We were trying to figure out exactly what sort of wild beast would make a track that is a mix of paw prints in the snow – that sort of look like Siberian Husky tracks – but also has a large dragging mark. We were totally confused and started to send the picture to our blog-o-sphere tracking expert, KB, but then had a theory.

Since a number of you asked after yesterday’s post, yes, the MacBook keyboard is ok after the “Mac & Cheese” incident (Op Pack – you cracked us up with that one). Only one of the keys (the control key – how ironic) was broken and we were able to get a replacement at our local Apple store, Charlotte Street Computers. Repairing the keys themselves is relatively simple as demonstrated in this YouTube video (just in case there is a sudden rash of Cheoah type landings).

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
That photo is hilarious!
Woo-hoo! we really gotta try that snow sliding manuveur!
(We loved the “mac & cheese” comment too – brilliant!)

CSI: Carolina Sibe Investigators! Mystery solved…of course!
Yep, I think you figured out the mystery!
OMD, that is soo cute!
LOL…now that is FUNNY!
We love that picture!!
I am an expert at this, can I join your team?
Great title:) We have some of those around here too. TD and Phantom are often seen doing that slide, but not the pest, she does the bunny hop instead:)
Glad to give you a chuckle, we are not usually that clever. We now need to try to bookmark that video because the Momster says better to know ahead of time how to do it.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
That is hilarious! I have never seen a dog do such a thing before. Your dogs are too awesome. 🙂
Looks like furry line dancing beasts hit your area

Wow, what wild crazy beasties!! But I heard you can calm them with noms!! 🙂
That is such a great picture!! Glad the laptop is okay. 🙂
Synchronized. Wow. I wonder how long they practiced that one! It does leave unique tracks, that’s for sure.
It reminds me of when K was a puppy, and I made her drag a 20′ long line behind her on the trails when she was transitioning to being an off-leash dog. One time, I found a DOW official staring at the marks and tracks she’d left in the snow, totally confused. Then, he saw her and had an “ah hah” moment!
Snow sliding is an art. It’s clear the herd is very talented!
And they are synchronized! What a riot.
I believe that is a furry khomplex Shoulder Doga move!

PeeEssWoo: Mom is still smiling about The OP KS Pakhk Mac&Cheese khomment – she is also khraving some too!
Strange beasts indeed! I wonder how many of those exist in the wild! 😛
I do this, too! Of course, my marks are probably pretty small compared to yours!
Your pal, Pip
i think the title of this post is very appropriate!
Hey! That’s our move!
oh now that is a GREAT picture!!! My dogs do that in the grass here, I think they pick up the scent of some good lookin husky lady and want to cover themselves in her scent!
That would seem to me to be an excellent event for the next Winter Olympics. Enough of just sled pulling, a little fun is always welcome.
Kisses,
Stella
