A Little Rain Must Fall (Ok, A Lot of Rain)

A number of years ago, the hu-dad took one of those personality profiles at his busyness. The counselor (er, apparently there was a counselor for everyone, not just the hu-dad – we are not sure if we believe that or not) was reviewing the results with the hu-dad. The highest score was his outdoor score – a great need and desire to be outdoors as much as possible. Confused by the relatively low score of a co-worker who appeared to enjoy the outdoors just as much, the hu-dad asked why the difference. The counselor asked the hu-dad, “If you are hiking and it starts to rain, what happens?” The hu-dad’s response? You get wet. The co-worker’s response? You seek shelter. Which brings us to today’s post.

Angry clouds and surf as we looked east from the beach

Zoomed out so you can see the storm clouds building just off the coast.

We went walking anyway, of course. What is a little rain?

We are guessing we got 4-5 inches of rain during the day, so maybe that is a "lot" and not a "little" rain (we heard nearby Wilmington got over 9.6 inches).

Kiska is sporting the new wet look.

That is *a lot* of rain. I’m with you, get soaked while hiking rather than go home! I hope that your vacation stays fun despite the storm. Gorgeous beach photos.

    The wet head is dead.

That looks like a pretty nice wave for the east coast.

Remy and Flash … who are two of 100% of Siberian Huskies who dont smell when we are wet.

We’re with you. We just keep dripping and walking. Of course thunder and lightning will bring us off the beach in an instant.

I love watching movies that have rainy scenes while it is raining…inside of course. Now Quinn, HE would be out there with you all getting stinky wet and sloppy. Glad you had a great time!

Lots of rain with you! We were just looking at the weather forecast for the US here on our national news – seems like a lot of rain is coming down in lots of places at the moment in the US!

Glad you enjoy it – Clive refuses to go out in the rain!!

When you have a beautiful beach to walk, who cares about a little rain (or, maybe a LOT of rain). I thought the wet look was in? 🙂

Hu-dad I’m curious, what other results did woo have? A love for smells? A love for furballs? A love for mudballs? A love for songs of woo? A long for wearing belts with sibes attached? I’m wondering what this all means…

Kiska, you can make any look look good!

I don’t think I’d seek shelter, but there would definitely be a rain coat put on and an umbrella employed! You gotta look good while you’re walking, even in the rain!

  18. Pamela on September 28, 2010 at 7:18 am

Mmmmmmmm! Wet dog smell. Am I the only one who actually likes it?

  19. Khumbu on September 28, 2010 at 6:06 am

Woooo rain is great, suppose there is no mud for you on the beach tho 🙁

Nothing wrong with the wet look.

Yes, we agree, you get wet – no big deal! Our grandad used to say that there was no such thing as too cold or too wet – you just had the wrong clothing on!
Kiska looks happy enough and suits the wet look!

  21. Khyra on September 28, 2010 at 1:06 am

The wet look soooo agrees with Princess K!
