We were enjoying time in our backyard when Hu-Dad heard rustling in the bushes near some bird feeders. Hoping to capture a photo of one our avian friends, he aimed his camera and caught this unique looking creature attempting to extract some seed. Hu-Dad thinks it’s a Landoness Boom-Boomness, but he isn’t positive. Can you identify this bird?

As a bonus, here a couple of more images Hu-Dad caught before he suggested the bird find other food, perhaps in his bowl.

Our german shepherds wait for crumbs to drop on the ground as I change out the suet feeders on the grass. Anything for some good ole fat. Those are awesome pics-good catch Hu-dad.

What a wonderful shot of such a cute bird. Be cautious in encouraging the species to stay around though. I have read that they shed their feathers quite a bit and they can accumulate heavily in areas where they hang around.

It is knows as a “Fluffy Butt Warbler” in upstate NY. The variety with a “Redhead” will steal sunflower seeds also. Very rare!!

Such an adorable ā€œbirdā€! We will make homemade suet from bacon grease and we have to save those for winter so that they donā€™t melt and drip on the ground where our local variety of ā€œbirdsā€ will lick it from the ground!
