The middle of the week and the anniversary of 9/11 is so serious, we thought all of our readers deserved some silly Roscoe faces to brighten their day.
One of the great things about humans sharing their lives with canines is realizing how sometimes we just need to let go and laugh at ourselves. Last night, Hu-Dad was sitting with Roscoe to capture a few serious photographs for the blog, but our big boy was having nothing to do with seriousness. He decided we all needed a few smiles.
So, yes, today is the anniversary of a very serious and somber moment. Yes, we face lots of challenges in our world that need addressing. And, yes, it’s a long ways from the weekend. But our canine friends remind us to have a little fun on this journey of life.
P.S. – We think of all of those who lost their lives so many years ago and of all of the first responders who suffer with ailments brought on by their heroism that day. We are forever grateful and will never forget.

Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldnāt have been much worse.

Thank you Roscoe for reminding us humans to be silly and have fun sometimes!!!
When I realized itās really been 18 years since the attacks (seems like only yesterday) thank you Hu-Dad & Roscoe for giving us something to smile about on this most somber day.
Mom ‘n Ebby say: Ebby wasn’t even thought of on that Sept. 11th, but I still remember the feeling of utter disbelief when I turned the TV on and the nightmare was on every channel during that unspeakable day.
Now, with Ebby sitting beside me, and looking at the expressions of adoration, and love, and acceptance on Roscoe’s sweet face, it somehow diminishes the pain of that day, though it will never be forgotten.
I remember 18 years ago like it was yesterday. I had a whole different group of dogs then, and I was worried for all of our safety. My kids were little, now they’re both adults. Life goes on, and dogs have a way of reminding us of how each second counts. I’m thankful for the folks who ran towards those 3 awful areas that had been hit on 9/11, as rest of us watched in horror. We can never forget…for those brave souls, and those who loved them. Thank you Roscoe for keeping it light on this very heavy anniversary. My new pack wasn’t here to comfort me 18 years ago, but today they’re doing a great job…

And to the all the veterans who stepped up the call of duty to go fight terrorism-they deserve our thanks and so do their families who endure them being deployed quite frequently. Thanks Roscoe for the smile. Hu Dad has a nice tribute article on his page also. I saved it for future looking at.
Our pets show us how to appreciate the simple pleasures while our busy minds are worrying about all that goes on in this world. Roscoe looks seems to be a very gentling, kind soul. I can see how much he loves you.
Hu-Dad=you said it all. Our memories of that fateful day in 2001 will remain with all of us who remember that day. BUT having Roscoe’s goofy and happy faces make life easier and bring happiness to our hearts. May God bless all who went through that horror.
