We joke all of the time about Qannik’s cottony qualities, but yesterday’s walk in the park included a really big Cotton ball that made Q-Tip look tiny.
For a number of years in a row, we spent New Year’s Eve RVing at the beach. Some friends visited Asheville most every year on New Year’s Eve. so we never got to meet up with them. We finally broke that streak yesterday by taking a quite chilly walk in Carrier Park with Cotton and his human.
As an Alaskan Malamute, Cotton is about the size of three of us, but he’s a fellow Northern Breed, so we were quite excited to meet him. So excited that we yelled and squealed a lot. And Cotton yelled and squealed a lot. Hu-Dad was glad that it was cold enough that very few people were in the park, because we did make a collective racket!
Miss Kiska might be the oldest member of The Herd, but she went along for the walk. And something interesting about our Chief of Security – she has a weakness for the good lookers. She was flirting and playbowing with Cotton. Cotton may have thought he was chatting with a Siberian Husky, but Kiska might have been playing Cougar.
With the seniors along, we kept the walk quite short but had a great time visiting.
One last picture before we close out today, but it takes a bit of explanation. Typhoon has always had a taste for Hu-Dad’s ice tea and tries to steal a drink. When Hu-Dad got out of the Jeep for a few minutes, he placed the tea glass on the front dash, well out of Typhoon’s reach. Or so he thought, because when Hu-Dad returned to the Jeep, he found this:
Amazingly, not a drop of ice tea was spilled.
P.S. – Happy New Year!

Kiska thanks for representing us “older” gals. We may not be 20 or 30 anymore, but we still appreciate beauty. Nice bow girl, you know how to show ’em! Cotton is one handsome guy! Sounds like he’s pretty popular also. I have a feeling Hu dad will be going on a lot of walks……
