Someone Is Playing The Senior Card

As colder weather arrives, our younger members head outside for games, playing in the brisk breezes. The older members of The Herd, however, opt for the indoor warmth. Someone is playing the senior card for the first time this winter.

I don't care that the sun is already up and everyone else is outside.

Cheoah joined the Herd a little over eight years ago and was somewhere between one and three years old at the time. She still has no problem handling her brothers, but she has increased her indoor time so far this winter. She is quite reluctant to leave her warm spot on the bed in the morning, as the picture above indicates.

Our house is heated via a radiant system – warm water pipes under the floors. That toasty warm floor is hard to resist and, apparently, quite enjoyable.

I just need a little more time.

A quick medical update. We have vet appointments for two members this morning.

Cheoah has long dealt with a number of skin growths. Previous tests have shown them to be fine, but she has opened up one on her leg (she blames brothers). She will be having a few places removed this morning and tested again.

We had mentioned yesterday that Qannik is suffering from some digestive issues. He has responded to treatments and is eating and drinking, but we are concerned enough to go back in for further tests this morning. (UPDATE – 3 a.m. Qannik had a bowel movement for the first time in a couple of days. We apologize for Hu-Dad’s silly, middle of the night, happy dance inside Sibe Quentin.)

Thanks in advance for everyone’s good thoughts.

We get excited for every bowel movement that happens, so we know that happy jig when someone isn’t feeling well. Good news for Q! Hope you find good news for Cheoah and Qannik.

Mom ‘n Ebby say: At our house, the “Happy Dance” in the back yard has been known to happen as well. We well know what THAT’S about! Hoping for the best for both Qannik and Cheoah at their upcoming vet appointments. Love and prayers from Mom, Dad, and Ebby.

All dog owners (or rather, those of us owned by dogs) understands the happy dance for a bowel movement. I hope all goes well for all of the Herd.

That’s great news and Hu-Dad, I too have had happy dances over bowel movements. Dog owners know those are important. I hope you get great results. No more sick babies. Hugs and kisses to the herd.

G-Ma and I look forward to February to see you at the WinterFest Smokey Style. G-Ma likes the weight pull competition, I on the other hand am a Sled Dawg fan. How ever our 2 pups, Randi (Rat Terrier mix) and Chloe (Beagle mix) are not Sled Dawgs….they are Loving Dawgs…and that’s what it’s all about…our 4 legged Kids….G-Pa
