When the Jeep is loaded and only a couple of members of The Herd are passengers, that usually means one thing – vet updates! Yesterday were trips for Qannik (Rabies shot) and Natasha (general check-up post surgery).
Because of the mass removed from Natasha’s liver, we will be performing regular blood work on her. Yesterday’s results could not have been better with excellent liver panels. Since she started the day with zoomies around the yard (doing her “I feel good” dance), we had good vibes about the tests before they were even done. We will be doing an ultrasound in a week just to get a good look at the internal organs and will continue to repeat blood work on a regular basis. We just celebrate every day we have a happy, healthy 12 year old leading our Herd.
Q, of course, did his absolute best to mooch snacks from every single person in the office. He weighed in at a healthy 56.2 pounds, but still tried to convince everyone that he was starving. And, for the record, he scored snacks from at least six members of the staff. Proof that batting those baby blue eyes is quite effective.
We also want to take a moment to wish our Hu-Aunt (Hu-Dad’s sister) a very happy birthday. Unlike previous years where we accidentally published her age, Hu-Dad reminded us repeatedly not to make the same mistake. In fact, we think he reminded us forty-six times not to mention her age in any way. So Happy Birthday, Hu-Aunt!

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Mom sez: A day late, missed this issue, but a belated Happy Birthday to the hu-Aunt, and gee, I wonder how old she really is?
Also, SO happy to hear the good news about ‘Tasha’s vet visit. I can’t believe how well she has recovered. And as for Qannik, well, who could help giving him treats, when he does the rounds, batting those “baby blues” at everyone. Irresistible!
Great report! Makes the WDA wiggy-waggy happy. And yes, manipulation for treats is a highly valued skill. Momma says your Hu-Aunt will be so taken by the hundreds of lovely birthday wishes, that she will share cake!
Dear Auntie, the White Dog Army hopes your day included a bit of pampering, a wish come true, celebration, good friends, LOTS of floofy kisses, and always…Love! Happy Birthday.
YAY for good liver values!!!!!!!
Happy birthday to your hu-aunt! I wonder how old she is?!?
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
LOL! 46 is a GREAT number. Take if from me. I have present experience with it.
I’m so happy to hear about QNTE and Q. If I was around him, his blue eyes would slay me and he’d be 100 lbs! (well, maybe not 100lbs but a “little husky” for sure!)
Great news!
Good news at the vet is always a relief!
Glad to hear the good report for the Queen!
Happy Birthday to Hu-Aunt! Big brothers are so annoying.
Glad to hear the Queen is doing well
Snicker. She may get you for that. I have to say, Natasha’ s recovery is amazing.
Hahahaha! Happy Birthday Hu-Aunt! And congrats Queen Natasha and Q for good Vet reports!!! ❤️?
