Qannik’s Vet Visit

Six months ago, Qannik topped the scales at 65 pounds (29.5 kg). We set a goal at the time to lose more than 10% of that weight, even though meal time might be Qannik’s favorite moments. Yesterday was Qannik’s vet visit and the big test.

please hit the goal

Please, please, please let me hit the goal.

Qannik has been on the green bean diet. For those of you who do not know, the diet is very simple. You reduce the amount of kibble by some amount – and replace the same volume with green beans. In Qannik’s case, his cup of food twice a day has become 2/3 of a cup of food plus 1/3 cup of green beans. Plenty of volume, but less calories.

have they finished the tests?

Have they finished all of the tests back there yet?

After six months of diet, you can imagine Qannik’s great desire to go back to full meals. So did he make it?

keep the notes high

They keep all of those notes where you can’t see them.

And the official weigh-in result – 56.5 lbs! Awesome job Qannik!

Am I good or what

Am I good or what?

Of course, you know what happened next, right? The evil Hu-Dad and the evil vet agreed that Qannik’s ideal weight would be 55lbs, so they decided to keep up the green bean diet a little longer. What do you think about that, Qannik?

Bummer

Bummer.

Aww poor guy! Oh well, it won’t take much longer and at least green beans are food! πŸ˜€ Jackal has been on a diet for about a year now and he’s getting so close to his ideal weight. It takes a long time, but it’s good for them to get back down to a healthy weight. πŸ™‚ Keep up the great work!

Your pictures are truly incredible…they reflect your words magnificently, Hu-dad, but feel so bleak for your boy…as bleak as he looks in the last capture!

Tikaani needs to do this diet, or the carrot diet lol. But he would demand the same amount of food PLUS the vegies.

Awww, poor guy. My 18 month female Sibe, Silky, is a bit heavy too at 53# but looks good. Thanks for the diet food menu tip. Are the green beans cooked or uncooked?

We use uncooked, unsalted green beans straight from a can. Others have used fresh green beans.

        Thanks, we will try it.
