Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?

Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.

Hmmm… maybe te bears can pick the lock with long figernails?!
seriously? they can open car doors. I think they would open that can w/o a lock. they’re a lot like huskies… and can “do” anything.
i had a friend who had his car door opened up and a bear was caught in it. tore the car to shreds and poo’d in the front seat. car was shut but not locked. so there you have it. they can open doors.
in Tahoe, a bear opened the back door to our cabin (wasn’t locked) when a friend was staying there. shut, but not locked. bear opened the fridge too. unfortunately, when bear saw the person, bear didn’t think to go out the open door that bear opened himself OR think to open the OTHER door across the room (you’d think if he could open a door the first time, he’d be polite enough to open the 2nd door). Instead, Bear freaked and plastered through the front window and climbed down the deck poles… smart, but dumb bear…

Wooos! I think the bears here would figure it out, there was one on the news swimming in the neighbors pool, opened the screen room right up!

Mum says she saw a documentary about bears a few weeks ago and the bears broke into all the trashcans, no matter how strong the humans thought they were. Maybe they were huskies in disguise.

I think I might need one of those and re-name it “Husky Proof Trash Can.” Though, I’m pretty sure he would figure out a way to pick the lock in no time!
Wow! They have it worse than me! I just have to get through the pantry door to get to my food. This whole “key” thing is over the top!

They don’t carry keys, but I hear they are pretty good lock-pickers.

They would carry keys, but they don’t have pockets. They leave that to the kangaroos.

I don’t think they carry keys, but I wonder how long it would take them to tip the can over and shake a few goodies out of it!
