More Hiking with The Herd (Stony Bald to Big Ridge)

For some odd reason, Hu-dad wanted to do more hiking with the Herd Sunday. Something about enjoying soft snoring all night long.

So we picked up the Mountain to Sea Trail where we left off yesterday at the Stony Bald overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We hiked over to the Big Ridge overlook and back, about a 4 mile roundtrip. This section starts with a steady incline followed by a slow decline through the mountain laurel.

We took advantage of the Big Ridge overlook for some water and rest.

After we made it back to the Jeep, we hung out for a bit catching our breath before loading up and heading home. Hu-dad seemed to smile when he saw he had tired out a certain pup.

We sure love the weather this time of year that allows us to feed our hiking habit.

Ice sez: Owooooooo, that Typhoon does look like one tired puppy, all right! Guess he’d never make it on the Iditarod!
