Reserved Seating

We don’t know about your house, but Hu-dad claims that there is a reserved seating policy in our house. Something about just because he gets up during a movie does not mean that he has relinquished his spot to others. We, of course, disagree.

Notice how Cheoah is kindly keeping Hu-dad’s seat warm.

Sure, we expect that a lot of canine households deal with the reserved seating policy that the humans attempt to set. But, multiple dog households make those human rules that much more amusing.

wrestling match

I have an idea. While the Hu-dad is away, let’s have a massive wrestling match.

Of course, the key in a multiple dog household is that the human establish firm, clear boundaries. For example, notice what happens when the Hu-dad says, “Enough games. Everyone settle so I can have my seat back.”

Mom sez: Typical Siberian behaviour. Listen if/when it’s convenient, and to their benefit. The one that aggravates me the most, though, is the coming when called. It’s more a case of “I’ll come when you call me, but ONLY if I happen to be passing that way anyway!” In all the years I’ve been owned by a Siberian (since 1978, I believe it was), I’ve only had TWO who would come without fail when called, and that was my very first Sibe “Chinook”, (1978-1991), and Kiah (1991-2004).
