Long-time readers might remember that we spent a couple of days with Benoit Denizet-Lewis, a New York Times Magazine writer, his dog Casey, and Sam Reid, his research assistant. Did we mention thatĀ we are inĀ the book? Really, here is an excerpt from page 119:
High in the hills of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, six Huskies led us up a steep climb to Hemphill Bald, a meadow that starts 5,500 feet above sea level and borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
And one of us was mentioned by name. Guess who?
A few yards to my right, Casey rolled on his back in the sun-stained grass, his neck stretched like a goose’s. Behind me, Sam kneeled next to the leader of the Husky pack we were climbing with, a headstrong female nicknamed Queen Natasha the Evil.
I am guessing the next part is where that Queen takes over the world.
Sorry, QNTE, but this book is actually about Benoit and Casey traveling the country in their RV. The story is part road-trip, part dog story, and part an exploration of human’sĀ love affair with dogs. We are so glad to have it as a part of our collection of dog books!
QNTE says it is a good book to curl up and read.

Really. I want a copy of “Travels with Casey” (It’s good for my English……I like dogs AND I like this blog). I like ‘true stories’ more than fiction.
I think it is wonderful that QNTE is mentioned in this book. With her having to be on rest duty maybe it will lift her spirit. Yeah I doubt it too. Huskies have to run and play and do their jobs. Get better soon Natasha. Be a good girl and do what you are told to heal. Hugs and kisses to the herd.
