Changing of the Guard

Perimeter patrol is taken very seriously around Chez Herd.  Like most security forces, we have our own changing of the guard ceremony.

headed out for guard duty
Nobody has patrolled the perimeter in at least 2-3 minutes, so guess I had better go. (And please don’t laugh at my shedding coat).
Natasha time
Perimeter is secure. Time for your patrol Natasha.
back from patrol
Back from a successful patrol.
Q-tip turn
Head on out, Q-tip. Your turn.
Q back
I’m back. Who is up next?
how long to figure out
Wonder how long it will take them to figure out I am inside watching TV.

Mom sez: We used to take Ice ‘n Ayla’s “fluff” and put it into one of those mesh onion bags, hang it on the front of our garden shed, and the birds just loved it for their nests. Haven’t bothered with Ice’s this year, just haven’t had the heart, and he’s not fully blowing coat yet anyway. Just using dryer lint for the birds this year.

Poor Kiska. The humans will be chasing you with pinchy fingers and Furminators. The birdies will follow you everywhere though, looking for soft fur for their nests.
